Artist Statement: "My work is the expression of color placement on archetypes of the everyday genre that are present in the collective unconscious of the viewer. My color exploration runs parallel with my obtaining educational degrees of a B.A. in Studio Arts, B.S. in Science, B.Arch. in Architecture, and a M.S. in Human Development. In my studies, I was particularly influenced by studying under Professor Ernie Mauer and was fascinated by his paintings of small square color studies. I am the author of ""Art and the Healthy Brain,"" a book that instructs health professionals how to teach acrylic painting to patients. The book focuses on color exploration, is implemented in several facilities in the Tidewater area with great success in improving patients brain health. I currently paint and teach color and design in my Virginia Beach studio. My Paintings have been shown in local and international galleries and museums. ""I believe that everyone has an inner light, it just needs to be turned on."
