A heritage listed statue is erected in Brisbane City of Sir William Glasgow a significant return Anzac who served in the Boer War 1899-1902, First World War Gallipoli and France 1914-1918. Post War he was elected into Parliament and was appointed as Australia's High Commissioner to Canada in 1940 and 1945. Brisbane's tall buildings form a guard of honour as well as a reflected background to the memorial. As I was trying to frame the statue and Brisbane's Anzac Memorial together I thought this image was a more poignant portrait of Anzac Day and reflecting on the lives we now live because of the sacrifices of those who have gone before us.
