Sugar Sky Image: "Sugar Sky" is a layered, mixed media painting with a predominance of light blues. Up close, I've incorporated a multitude of doodled imagery, from faces to whimsical, organic shapes. The ovals stem from my love of the shape, as well as cells, as I was a biology minor in college. (I loved looking through the microscope at various organisms.)

The blue comes from my love of the sky, which is an exciting natural feature, as I live in a generally gray Pacific Northwest.

Finally, the piece comes framed in an exterior maple strip frame, which adds an additional 3 inches to the overall height and width.
