A series of monotype prints, which have been cut up, and pinned to Museum Board. Housed in a acrylic box, which is 33 x 53 x 3.65 inches. Actual artwork size is 43 x 28 inches.
This cut up print installation is part of my "Fraternal Foliage" series, which is incorporates abundant biological appearing motifs and layered art materials. The predominant shapes within this painting are biological forms which float or connect in space. I live around lush greenery, so these shapes are an abstract riff on dense leaf-like forms. This piece incorporates 6 prints cut up, attached to pins and mounted to an acid-free mat board.
The title of the piece is "Fraternal Foliage (installation), which refers to abundance, sufficiency or overflow. Shapes are heaped at the bottom, with more floating down to meet them. I believe life is full of abundance, and abundance is the essence of this piece.
