MessageWhat went through your mind, twenty-three hundred years ago,
When the sculptor said, Sit still so I can draw you.
Sit still so I can create this likeness, these thick curls,
These crinkly ears, this rounded chin.
Sit still so I can capture the sweetness in your smile;
The affection in your eyes.
Sit still, please.
And all you wanted to do was run away and play.
This is a graphite drawing of a statue in the Metropolitan Museum of Art called "Greek Head of a Boy". The drawing is framed and matted.
The artist was impressed by the subtle emotion displayed on the face of this sculptural work.
