The artwork features a vibrant and surreal depiction of a chest radiograph with a color scheme dominated by blue, green, and black hues. The blue sections highlight the chest and ribcage area, while the green surrounds the sides and lower torso, creating a striking contrast. The central figure in black represents an empty, stylized heart or void in the chest. In front of this background image, a glowing red sculpture of an anatomical heart is positioned, radiating intense light that contrasts with the cooler color tones behind it. This artwork has dual meanings; the first is compassion. The second is a literal interpretation based on my experience as a neurosurgeon. I had many brain-dead patients who became organ donors, literally providing their hearts to others as a gift of life.
