The grandest event on the prestigious indoor horse show circuit, Neiman portrays Madison Square Garden on the opening night of the National Horse Show. Featuring the International Jumping Competition, the who’s who of high society turns out in gowns and tails to take part in polite applause and experience the suspense that arises as horse and rider turn the course. The setting allowed the artist to express his long-time interest in high fashion complimented against the brilliant range of colors represented in the flags of the competing nations. The black curtain cast across the crowd, courtesy of the outfitting of the gentleman, dotted with color and fine detail, juxtaposed against the brilliant red clay of the course with jumps dispersed throughout accentuates the pageantry of the event.
