This piece brought to mind a frosty winter walk meadering the sandy marsh trail on the shoreline at Terra Nova, and the colours of sunrise on the water at Iona Beach. Growing up in the interior of BC, winter meant blue skies and a covering of glittering snow. In its lower mainland, everything is instead exposed and winter is filled with earthy colours and the prettiest morning skies. The title is from Yusuf / Cat Stevens’s song, Peace Train.
