My name is Sadie Smith and I am a self-taught photographer in the Pacific Northwest.
I am a 36-year-old, white transgender woman, and my photographic work reflects my interest in queer performativity, and attempts to explore the walls we spend our lives trying to take down, and the ways in which heteronormative notions of family may be profaned through a simple sidestep or shift in point of view. I am also interested in documenting queer elders.
I work with film exclusively, because the pace, process and workflow suit me.
