Sabina Puppo is a contemporary Uruguayan-Italian-American artist known for inhabited landscapes with rolling hills and figural representations, filled with fine lines and details. Fascinated with trees and nature, Puppo often captures life in a natural setting in meticulously crafted paintings influenced by primitive, naïf, and folk art. The multidisciplinary artist focuses primarily on oil painting, with a trajectory in ink drawing, fired clay, and fibers. Born in Montevideo in 1968, Puppo alternates between living with her husband in the Virginia Piedmont region and the Uruguayan countryside. Her work has been exhibited throughout Uruguay and the United States. Her self-taught ‘outsider’ approach, and naïve style, give her work a distinct and recognizable edge celebrated by private collectors around the world.
