Curiosity

"CURIOSITY is a re-enactment of family stories illustrating generational attitudes towards sex, love, and gender. It began when I was providing hospice care for my grandmother as she battled dementia. Usually a private woman, she began opening up about some of the darkest times from her past, subjects most of our relatives wished we had answers to years prior. This turned into background visuals and soundscape for a performance piece and later became a short film.

Inspired by a line of powerful family matriarchs, I use whatever tools are at my immediate disposal to tell a story: archival footage, rudimentary software and equipment, and household items as symbolic forms."
