A black and white photograph of a decorative planter pot.
"I am 74 years old, a retired electronics engineer, and a serious photographer since 1944. When I was 15, in Oakland, California I traded my Lionel train set for a Zeiss Ikon 9x12cm plate camera. I've been at it ever since. I have owned and used many cameras, from Minox to 8x10, but always came back to hand held 35mm and medium format cameras as offering the spontaneity I feel is the very essence of photography. I admit I have done my share of Ansel Adams imitations, but I believe that a Cartier-Bresson photograph printed on a paper towel would be a more important piece of work than 99% of Ansel's "Cosmic Postcards". So sue me!"
