1998: CPAC moves to 1513 Boulder Street in Denver’s Highlands neighborhood, sharing space with the Carol Keller Gallery. Seven years of intense activity begins under leadership of R. Skip Kohloff (President) and Lisbeth Neergaard Kohloff (Gallery Coordinator). Program highlights: Jerry Uelsmann, Emmett and Elijah Gowin, Ronald Wohlauer, Susan Goldstein, Sally Stockhold, Betty Hahn.

2006: R. Skip Kohloff retires after 19 years as president. He and his wife, Lis, leave the board, having served 27 and 24 years respectively. CPAC transitions to a center-without-walls run by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Lisbeth Neegaard Kohloff is a photographer, photo-historian, historian, curator, educator, lecturer, juror, and tour organizer. She studied at Rochester Institute of Technology, receiver her BA in Art History from the University of Rochester and MA in the History of Photography from the University of Denver. While living in Rochester, she worked at the Eastman House (International Museum of Photography) where her research papers are on file in the Museum’s archives.

For many years, Ms. Kohloff was the faculty of the University of Colorado at Denver teaching history, criticism and theory of photography.

After an invitation from the Chinese Photographer’s Association to lead a tour to that country, Ms. Kohloff, through her company, Aperture Adventure led photographic/arts tour Peru, Bolivia and Oaxaca, Mexico.

Ms. Kohloff was the Founder and Chair of the Board of the Foothills Photographers. She also served on the board of the Colorado Arts Center and was The Gallery Coordinator for CPAC. Ms. Kohloff curated and juried numerous group exhibitions and has guest lectured on many occasions. She has been a professional portfolio reviewer at Photo Americas (Portland, OR), Houston Fotofest (Houston, TX), and for the International Photo Lucida based in Portland, Oregon.

Her work has been in many solo and group exhibitions on the national and international setting. Regionally she has shown at the Boulder Arts Center, Foothills Art Center, Emmanuel Gallery, Sangre de Cristo Art Center, Arvada Center for the Arts and the Nicolaysen Art Museum in Wyoming. Ms.Kohloff’s works are also in several permanent collections including the Beijing Photography Association, Denver Art Museum, University of Denver, Colorado Photographic Arts Center and the Kaiser Permanente Corporate collection.

She has been nominated for both the Mayor’s and Govenor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts and, in 2003, received the AFKEY award from the DAM Alliance for Contemporary Art for her contributions to the arts. In 2006, she and her husband Skip received a “Best Friends of Colorado Photography” award in Westword’s “Best of Denver” issue. The award cited their dedication to CPAC as being the “backbone of the institution” for many years, during which “they promoted innumerable local careers and put together a star-studded roster of exhibits that featured some of the most famous photographers in the West.”
