“Elizabeth Taylor was going to star in Cleopatra. She recently had a tracheotomy – and the world was waiting to see her. I was assigned by LIFE Magazine to photograph, the costume fittings two weeks before filming was to begin, outside Rome. My essay not only ran in LIFE the following week, but it was picked up by fourteen magazines throughout the world. She loved this picture. She had a life-size print of it in her dressing room for the duration of the filming. ” – Ken Heyman
