Statement from Todd Dobbs:
"Bridging the present and future technologies with those that existed more than a century before my birth satisfies my creative curiosity in ways that a strictly modern workflow can't. I explore the dynamic interplay between tradition and innovation by integrating AI and hybrid processes into my practice. This fusion allows me to reimagine classical techniques through the lens of emerging technologies, creating a dialogue between the old and the new.
I am deeply interested in the conceptual ideas that combining processes and technologies fosters. AI, with its ability to generate, interpret, and transform, opens doors to imaginative realms that challenge conventional boundaries with also reflecting existing societal biases and magnifying images clichés. By critically engaging with these aspects, I seek to navigate the complexities of AI's impact on creativity and culture, crafting pieces that transcend traditional definitions of form and medium while embodying a commitment to innovation and originality.
I don't define my work using a specific subject, process, or visual style, but rather by a spirit of imagination, exploration, experimentation, and open-mindedness. By embracing both the traditional and the transformative, I aim to create art that resonates with a timeless yet forward-looking sensibility."
