Interior of Penn Station with one figure in a long coat and hat ascending the center staircase. Another figure in a long coat, hat, and fur stole walks toward the staircase in front of a metal railing, away from the camera. The central staircase is surrounded by thick bannisters and a stone archway which reads "31st ST." on either side. To the right of the arch's top is a large clock with hands showing about 1:35 and reading "Eastern Standard Time" in the center. There are faint shafts of light streaming in from the top of the stairs and the arched window above them.
Drahomír Joseph Ruzicka (1870 – 1960) was an American photographer originally born in Austria. He initially studies medicine in New York, but later became known for his architecture photography, especially that of Pennsylvania Station and other famous New York locations.
