"Cecil B. Atwater (b. after 1886–d. after 1981) is known for his distinguished photographs of Mexico. These photographs, taken by Mr. Atwater when he visited Mexico, are of particular interest because they show the life of the country. There are exciting views of the market places and the natives, as well as landscapes of unusual beauty and charm." (Brooklyn Museum)
