This photograph of a disturbance during a rock festival was taken by Denver Post staff Steve Larson. This photograph won first place for the Spot News Division 1970 "National Picture of the Year Award" Competition .
Steve Larson now runs a small newspaper in Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood called The Front Porch. He has over 45 years of experience in photojournalism, has worked as director of photography at U.S. News and World Report magazine in Washington DC and as a photographer and assistant managing editor for photography and graphics at the Denver Post.
