I am a contemporary figurative oil painter born in Phoenix. My husband and I split time between our Phoenix home and our Coronado home of 17 years with any of our three children who seem to keep popping back in. Both places feel completely like home to us.

My foray into oil painting started in 2017 when my teenage son decided I needed a hobby and suggested I take a painting class - after I showed him the "masterpiece" I painted at an Emerald C Gallery wine and paint night. I enrolled at Scottsdale artists school and I was hooked. I have been studying figurative oil painting for five years in the Foundations Studies program. I have also had the privilege to take workshops and study with very accomplished professional artists.

I am honored that from the first year I started attending Scottsdale Artist School my paintings have been juried into the Best and Brightest and Beaux Art Fresh Paint competitions.

My greatest achievement in my short career was to one of the twelve awards, among hundreds of paintings submitted, in the 2020 Best and Brightest competition. This was and has been a huge motivation to continue to try to improve my skills.

Painting has become my passion. It's my meditation, my therapy and my happiest place.

Artist Statement: My paintings seem to be riddled with nostalgia. I have always enjoyed
learning about life in the past. I have a fascination with understanding what
it felt like to live in a different time. My paintings depict those moments in
time and I attempt to translate black and white images into colors and
expressions that makes the painting feel more contemporary
