Native Coronadoan Ginny Lovell fell in love with glass art when she was twenty. Throughout her 38 year career at North Island in Coronado, California, she dreamed of spending more time creating art. Now retired, at age 71, handcrafted kiln-formed glass art is her passion.

Ocean, nature, and Southwestern themes are reflected in her fused glass art panels, powdered glass 'slurry' bowls and Murano style floral millefiori pendants and earrings.

Ginny's creative inspiration was born in her life experiences while living along the Imperial Beach/Coronado seashore and Warner Springs back country. She is a fourth generation Imperial Beach resident and former resident of Coronado, where she was born in 1952.

Ginny is a charter member of the Warner Springs Artisan Guild, the San Dieguito Art Guild, the Art Glass Association of Southern California, and the American Glass Guild. Her blue ribbon “IB Native Glass Art” brand has been featured on the Creative Paradise website, in monthly shows at The Offtrack Gallery in Encinitas, The Gallery at Warner Springs, and published by the Wissmach glass company in Glass Patterns Quarterly magazine.

A self-described former 'workaholic' in the military aircraft rework industry, Ginny says retirement has liberated her true nature as a free spirited artisan. She believes that reflecting nature and life's form and color into art truly soothes the weary soul!
