Born in Virginia Beach, I moved all over the place when I was a child, including Europe, Central America and various states in the U.S. before finally landing in Coronado. I stayed here through high school then moved away for college. A few years after finishing college I moved back to San Diego, where I have remained for the last 15 years.

One constant that has remained throughout in my life is art. Whether it be drawing, painting, sculpture, or working on a project with my children, I have always loved creating things. I primarily drew with pencil and charcoal when I was young. I always paid attention to lines, angles, and perspectives, and the different ways they could be made into abstract forms. I believe that seeing the world this way naturally led me to capturing moments through a lens.

Photography is a relatively new art form for me. I purchased my camera in January 2024 and immediately fell in love with this beautifully dynamic medium. I started out taking photos of birds, enjoying the serenity afforded by documenting their feeding, social, and migratory behavior at dawn and dusk. I gradually shifted my focus to street and architectural photography, enjoying the ease walking out my door at just about any time and capturing city structures or people and the events in their lives. Taking photos of the things happening in this world – from the significant to the mundane – allows me to feel pulse of the community, meet new people, and take in the beauty of human experience. Through my art I hope to capture moments in time and share those moments with anyone who wishes to see them.
