Raised in Sacramento, my BFA is from CSUS, but I moved to Hawaii soon after where I lived and painted for 32 years, inspired by the bright colors of the tropics. But in 2014, I was ready to move forward again in my personal and artistic growth by relocating back to California. Going back and forth between coastal Pacific Beach and the desert, where my daughter owns a home, I move between opposite climes and scenery, and challenge myself to be inclusive of both, just as I grow in different ways.
My favorite subjects are usually large close-up florals and I love the joy that color gives one. But living in California has been such a move forward, and I am exploring art techniques and styles in new and exciting ways these days. I have always viewed art as a spiritual experience that nourishes the soul, and I feel deeply thankful and privileged to be part of the inclusion and community-mindedness that Art is all about.
