Mary Kenealy (b. 1953) x
Mary Kenealy is a watercolor painter who focuses on geometric forms. She was born in Los Angeles, CA, earned her BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art (Baltimore, MD) and her MFA from Yale University, School of Art (New Haven, CT), and currently lives in Norwalk, CT. Kenealy was an adjunct professor at Central Connecticut State University (New Britain, CT), and is currently the Registrar at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum (Ridgefield, CT). She received a Connecticut State Office of the Arts, Individual Artist’s Grant, Works on Paper, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, Works on Paper. Her work has been exhibited individually and jointly at multiple locations, including the C&A Gallery (NY), Paesaggio Gallery (Hartford, CT), DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park (MA), Baltimore Museum of Art (MD), Wadsworth Antheneum (Hartford, CT), and the Aetna Gallery (Hartford, CT).
MARY KENEALY lives and works in Connecticut. She has exhibited widely throughout the US and is the recipient of numerous awards including a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and an Individual Artist’s Grant from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts. Her work can be found in public collections including at the Wadsworth Atheneum and the Yale University Art Gallery.
