Roots by Roxanne Faber Savage Image: This submission's portfolio of six images features digital photographic images that focus on interventions in the natural world. As an artist, I am a keen and curious observer of nature. I am fascinated by the essential elements of art that nature shows us, like the tangled lines, bright and glowing colors, and textures that make us look at things in a new way. Once the image is captured, I reimagine the organic form using digital tools to shift one's attention from recognizing what the familiar is to creating uncertainty about it.

Creating these artworks involves digital photography, drawing, and printing onto a Plexiglas mount for display. The artworks are printed directly onto a plexiglass mount, with hanging wire on the verso.
