This piece is a part of the Entangled and Ingested project, where the artist creates life-sized portraits of animals harmed by plastic pollution. Each piece is hand sewn and made from unrecyclable plastic waste. Even though it may be marked with the chasing arrows, film plastic, like that featured in this piece, is recyclable in fewer than 2% of communities in the United States. The overwhelming majority of communities in the states do not accept film plastic for recycling.
