The issue of scale is important to both the courthouse as well as the Diagonal Frieze. The size of the architectural elements inside the courthouse instill a sense of confidence that justice is larger than humanity and we will be fairly served. The sculpture, while recalling a classical frieze, is quite exaggerated in its scale suggesting perhaps that it may have come from a monumental structure. This placement maintains a historical aura, yet invites viewing from a more intimate vantage point.
