Victor leger has been painting since his time in Hartford Public High School with the artist Peter Waite. He devotes a good portion of his attention to plein air painting entirely on site, including the larger paintings. He paints on panels in order to get a higher definition in detail. The landscape he prefers is right around his house in Litchfield County but after purchasing a second home on the coast of Maine he has expanded his subject matter.
