The quiet grace of a Carla Nehaus painting introduces the landscape of the New England woodlands to it's own contemporary expression. Natural forms become defined, not by surface detail, but by the gentle energy they give and receive. Well expressed and rich in color are the seasons, intermingled with an occasional transient sculpture of a forest stream. Carla carefully selected the New England Berkshires as her permanent residence, because of her love of the natural beauty of their terrain. Her gardens have become an additional source of inspiration for her luminous contemporary style of painting. Over thirty years of development has brought the artist through several mediums with a focus on watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, and ceramics.
