Artist: Theodore Hines (British)
“Theodore Hines was a highly regarded 19th century British landscape painter who frequently exhibited at the prestigious Royal Academy from 1880 through 1889. He also had exhibitions from 1876 through 1889 at numerous other prestigious London galleries, including Suffolk Street and Grovenor Gallery (1).”
“Though he specialized in rural landscapes, London was Hines' primary residence throughout his artistic career. He often painted the Royal Berkshire villages situated by the Thames as they were in easy reach of London.
He was the brother of landscape painter Frederick Hines (fl.1875-1897) (2).”
“Hines also exhibited at The Glasgow Institute of Fine Art, Glasgow and The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. He died after 1890 (2).”
