  • Artist: Adolph Heinze (American, 1887-1958)

Limited information available.
Adolph Heinze
“Adolph Heinze (1887 – 1958) was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 5, 1887. He was a student of Karl Albert Buehr, Grant, Snell and later, with William Merritt Chase in New York.” (1)
“He was a member of the All-Illinois Fine Artists Association, Chicago Palette and Sculptors, and Chicago Gallery Association, where he exhibited in 1927. He also showed at the Municipal Art League.” (2)
“Heinze, primarily a landscape painter, exhibited thirteen works at the Art Institute of Chicago between 1925 and 1930.” (1)
“Adolph Heinze was commissioned by the Great Northern Railway to create images of Glacier park for brochures and posters. He was also the only artist, except for Winold Reiss to illustrate the Great Northern Railway's famous calendar in 1929.” (3)
“Heinze completed many western landscape paintings including major works of Glacier Park, its lodges and famous red buses, the Rocky Mountains and Wyoming's ‘Grand Tetons’. It has been said that the mountains did not suit him well and he returned after a short while to Illinois.” (2)
“Although Heinze had lived for many years in Downers Grove, Illinois, he passed away on June 11, 1958 in Glenview, Illinois.” (1)
