Tamara Michael
With the intent of becoming a full-time artist, I moved to St. Croix in August of 2017 with my husband, who lived here in the seventies and eighties. Everything about the Island intrigues and inspires me, from the West all away across the Island to the East. The lushness of the landscapes of the rain forest and the towering cacti, the crashing seashore to the north and south, and the calming water of the west all provide me with information to create mural designs, as well as abstract fantasies.
Most of my work begins as a doodle, an abstract thought from the subconscious that is reorganized to resemble a cohesive story. Mainly working in acrylic and house paints allows me to work spontaneously and quickly. As dreams come true, living on St. Croix has been an excellent adventure and the journey continues.
