Gene Rotter
I am originally from Cuba and I am proud to have parents who were artistic. This allowed me to enjoy a broad spectrum of life and their views on Music and Art.
I grew up in New York City and I am a proud graduate from the High School of Music and Art Class of 77 and have been painting now for fifty years.
Since my childhood, my family life has circled around the Caribbean and this has translated into my artwork using oils, acrylics, and watercolors.
Since my retirement from the Technology field and our move to St. Croix in 2015, my color palette has exploded, and my canvas has come alive more than ever.
I have had various successful shows in New York, New Jersey and in the Island, at Polly’s, The Blue Mutt, The Woman Coalition’s fundraisers, and the Orchid Shows.
I am an active member of CMCArts in Frederiksted, I have participated in the New Blood Shows and what I am most proud of is that I have been organizing The Pride Thru Art shows at the museum.
I am proud to say that my painting dedicated to our local farmers was selected to be in the CMCArts 2021 Calendar and I also donated 13 months of my Orchid Artwork to our local Orchid Education Group calendar for 2021.
I am incredibly happy to be part of this community and support all those who are involved in Music and Art.
