My mind
with my crown.
I refuse to see the light,
or to open my eyes.
This is not about you.
Just me
and my shadows inside.
I’m in love
with my demons.
“This is me and my shadows / Crowned prince” talks about an emotion most of us have to face from time to time - when we hide in our shell and are too afraid to confront ourselves. I want to speak of fragility and vulnerability, and our reluctance in showing it/changing it/seeing what is beyond.
I chose silverpoint for the topic The fine traces of cool grey silver is un-erasable, but will oxidize to warm brown overtime, like the prince’s shadows it is permanent but temperamental. I love how delicate and unforgiving it is, and also the nostalgic note that gives drawing a romantic depth.
