"Subsiding Storm" was painted during a period of challenging life-changes, traumatic transition and upheaval.
I am forever grateful for the abundant blessing of good friends, family and supporters, and for the incredibly peaceful sanctuary I enjoyed on Whidbey Island for several weeks at a time.
This was the view I enjoyed and wanted to somehow capture the spirit and sense of grace and healing I found in this place, and specifically chose my colour palette accordingly. Bright yellow green for fresh Spring growth and new beginnings. Deep pinks and golds for a sense of safety, security and healing. Lilac undertones for grace and wisdom. Strong contrasts throughout describe both emotional intensity and powerful intention within the healing experience.
In the distance, near the shore, the fog is lifting to reveal a new clarity of vision, over a calm sea ahead. Storm clouds part and dissipate before the intense, brilliant light of the sun, while
"Legend" - the resident, feisty search and rescue horse, grazes peacefully on glowing pastures.
