On September 12, 1966, a new consolidated Catholic high school was opened on twenty-five acres of land at Williams Rd. and Parsons Ave. in southern Columbus to serve many of the area parishes. Named after the founder, Father Wehrle High School contained a chapel that housed two sets of stained glass window panels. After closing in 1991, the Father Wehrle Memorial High School would eventually be turned into the City of Columbus Fire Academy, where the stained glass windows still sit to this day.
The first of the two collections is comprised of six tall rectangular stained-glass windows set into the brick wall and allow in light from the outside. The window is made up of blues, pinks, greens and purples and is constructed in a wavy geometric pattern. The second contains four tall, narrow stained-glass windows with abstract patterns. Most of the colors are fairly muted except for some sections that are a bright red and yellow.
