Stand by Me (storyboard)
- Watercolor, acrylic on stretched cotton
- 122 x 91 cm
- Tom Freeman
This delicate watercolour on translucent fabric has been inspired by the 1986 film 'Stand By Me'. The film’s themes of nostalgia, family/friend relations and coming of age has been extended into the artist’s memories, history and life. He uses a filmic story board layout. Tom Freeman focuses on film’s defining bridge scene in this work. He replaces the film’s bridge with the train bridge from Fremantle and Bridgetown, both being personally significant to the artist.
