Artist Amok Island conducted extensive research for the mural design including spending time in Marmion Marine Park photographing marine creatures. The artist then created his contemporary interpretation drawing inspiration from vintage and scientific identification charts.

The mural depicts a selection of iconic marine fauna found in the Marmion Marine Park area, from invertebrates, crustaceans and mollusks through to fish and marine mammals.
