Kyle Hughes-Odgers is a Western Australian Visual Artist who works locally and globally on art projects across various formats - Murals, Gallery Exhibitions, 3D installations and Children's books.
His work focuses on colour, spatial balance, movement and narrative. Contrasting ideas of nature, the built environment, human behaviour and abstraction.
He has had solo exhibitions in Perth, Melbourne, Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid, Los Angeles and Vienna. His work is held in numerous private and public collections worldwide.
In addition to his exhibition works, Kyle has created large scale murals in New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, London, Sheffield, Singapore, Madrid, Berlin, Cambodia, Iceland and at home in Australia, including From Above, a giant 6 m x 80 m exterior painting for the Perth International Airport.
His children’s books include Ten Tiny Things, One Thousand Trees, Off the Wall and Can a Skeleton have an X-Ray? He has won a SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) Crystal Kite Award (2013). Published by Fremantle Press, Kyle’s books are accompanied by a suite of education materials packaged to engage children in a range of creative activities. His book One Thousand Trees is hosted on StoryBox Library and is narrated by actor Trevor Jamieson.
