From the Discover Gloucester website: Created by renowned sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington, the World War I Memorial was presented to the City of Gloucester by the French Government in 1921 and rededicated in 2001 honoring the sons of Gloucester who gave their lives during the Great War. Located at the traffic circle between Washington and Middle Streets, this impressive sculpture features Joan of Arc on horseback.
