About
Winds of Change depicts a hand holding up an angel painted in a wide range of colors to represent diversity, inclusiveness, and hope. The hand is holding the colorful figure in the air like a small flag, demonstrating that these qualities enrich our lives. According to the artist , the sculpture is titled Winds of Change because its purpose is to promote the value of diversity, the benefits of inclusion, and the significance of tolerance.
Winds of Change was funded by an Art in the Neighborhoods grant from the Lyndhurst Foundation and matching funds raised by the community. The sculpture was selected by the community to reflect Brainerd’s unique sense of community, diversity, and a new beginning.
