In the spring you see lots of American Avocets wading in the slough's. Their pastel blue legs are quite the sight and their elegant colouring and shape, make them a truly beautiful little bird. The reeds here are dead cattails and their shape post winter, makes them look like an altar, or cathedral.....so at the temple.
