“Extravagance” was born of free-flowing shapes and colors, mark-making, stencils and stamps to create a background with movement. I then added acrylic paint skins…that is paint that had dried in my palette and was carefully lifted to retain its brush strokes and organic edges. These, then, became the primary floral focus. Layers of paint, skins, marks, collage paper, and crayons then built up the highly textured surface. Lastly, in keeping with the title, gold and silver leaf was woven through the bouquet.
