Measuring in at four feet tall with a four foot arm/wingspan, this sculpture is a portrayal of celebration and accomplishment…which seems all too fitting as it has been nearly a year in the making. The main body of the sculpture is carved from a solid piece of Douglas fur, while the arms/wings continue with my “branches” theme. Every single seam of wood grain in the body was hand-tooled with added texture. The sculpture was finished with spray paint, epoxy, and eight coats of a heavy duty marine varnish.
