Brilliant Passage

The title refers literally to the bright light illuminating these buildings, set in an alleyway, or passage. Figuratively, it refers to an excellent excerpt from a book. As a lover of stories, I wanted to insert this idea of hovering between familiarity and imagination, as many of my paintings do. This is an invented scene, combining three source photos from different parts of Los Angeles to create something new.
