Created entirely during the early weeks of quarantine while on a friend's family apple farm in Vermont, this series takes inspiration from the curious forms of grafted apple trees, along with the wily ambitions of thin shoots that sprout from the trees during winter, known as water sprouts. 'Gemel' is the Latin word for 'a pair' and is often used in Forestry to describe two trees that have grown together. As a collaborative duo, we love the poetic metaphor of Gemels and the creative permission it gives to endlessly stack, twist, and entwine our ideas.
