Created while doing a residency on Waids Woods in VA in the spring of 2016 when the redbuds were in full bloom! I was amazed at how many redbuds grew in the wild there, so I dragged a ladder out to get a view from the redbud. Incorporate that into the encaustic center panel, as well as a nest of the bluebirds that were very busy that spring building theirs. The center prison floats on a bed of twigs I collected there, and a redbud branch crosses the center of the panel with clay redbud blooms.
