acrylic inks, pastel, graphite, stones and wood on panel. While working on most large pieces, I have what I call "peripheral" pieces going on at the same time to warm up, experiment on, and use up all the custom mixtures I've made. Many times I am gratified to see these pieces that are less examined often times surpass the pieces that took the main stage at the time. I was working on this piece at the same time as the mural scale piece that centered around the fox river, and 5ft x 30 felt small....As I wrapped it up, I realized that my love for liquid processes is really just acting out the concept of "following the flow"....what I try to do in art and life!
