Magic and Whimsy: Colorado Mosaic Artists

Kathy Thaden’s award-winning mosaics range from abstracts to commissioned work. She finds inspiration in all that surrounds us: responding to environmental and social issues as in “The Understory” and “Random Acts” respectively. It is important to Kathy that nothing be wasted, finding beauty in the brokenness. Treasuring scrap glass and discarded items from our ‘throw-away’ culture she often lets the materials be her guide, even recycled books as with “Open Minds, Open Hearts.”
