“We should indeed keep calm in the face of difference, and live our lives in a state of inclusion and wonder at the diversity of humanity.”-George Takei
One thing that unites the human experience is that every one of us is different! From your favorite song to your hopes and dreams, there are so many shades that make the masterpiece of you. The LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, +) communities are full of unique identities. Together, many individuals across this spectrum form a rainbow of Pride. All the local artists included in this exhibition exemplify dimensions of diversity.
How can you show pride? Pride is being comfortable and confident in your identity. Pride is being brave enough to tell your truth, even in the face of adversity. Pride is supporting your friends, neighbors, and loved ones by celebrating our differences. The LGBTQ+ communities recognize Pride Month each year to remember the past and imagine the future. At Children’s Colorado, we believe when LGBTQ+ kids are seen, heard, and accepted, we have a stronger, safer, more colorful and interesting world.
