The shadows behind me are juxtaposed against the shimmering lights of hope. 2020 was a year of rain-sodden memories, sorrow, and a barrage of fallen dreams. Speaking to the theme of the show, “I’m Here,” a girl extends an open palm to the stars—a world beyond. With her back to the forest, she gleams in the reflection of the mountains, sending a shockwave of hope through the galaxy. 2020 was a year of rain-sodden memories. 2021 is a year of determination. I decided to create a shadow box to represent my past two years. Inside, is a paper version of me with my back to the forest, or the horrors of 2020, and my face to the stars, or the idea of a new beginning.

Las sombras detrás de mí se yuxtaponen a las luces brillantes de la esperanza. El 2020 fue un año de recuerdos empapados por la lluvia, de tristeza y de un aluviónde sueños caídos. Refiriéndose al tema del espectáculo, I’m here(Estoy aquí), una niña extiende la palma de la mano abierta hacia las estrellas, un mundo más allá. De espaldasal bosque, brilla en el reflejo de las montañas, enviando una onda expansiva de esperanza a través de la galaxia. El 2020 fue un año de recuerdos empapados por la lluvia. 2021 es un año de determinación. Decidí crear una caja de sombras para representar mis dos últimos años. En su interior, hay una versión en papel de mí de espaldasal bosque, o a los horrores de 2020, y de cara a las estrellas, o a la idea de un nuevo comienzo.
